Academy a unique blend of community, history, design | The Post and Courier, Charleston SC - News, Sports, Entertainment Mount Pleasant Academy in the area commonly called Old Mount Pleasant is a very special place to me and my family. Not only did I attend through six grade, both of my daughters attended as well...all of us then going on to Moultrie. At the old school, completed in the 60's, my parents participated with other parents in spaghetti suppers, carnivals, and other fundraisers to air condition the building and to provide other improvements that schools take for granted today.
